The Dukies' Foundation, our school charity, is embarking on a fundraising effort to refurbish our swimming pool—a cherished facility that holds countless memories for generations of Dukies, including you.

We invite you to join us in supporting this important initiative. Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly enhance the learning environment for current and future generations of students, ensuring that they have access to a safe and conducive space for swimming lessons and as part of our comprehensive co-curricular offering.

Here's why your support matters:

Enhanced Learning Environment: Upgrading pool facilities will create a more conducive environment for learning for the students and make it a more attractive space for them to learn in. You may remember the benefits that it brought to you, I know many of you were in the Water Polo team or were lucky enough to represent Kent while you were at school

Community Impact: Your donation will have a ripple effect, positively impacting not only our Dukie Family but also the broader community. Our pool serves as a valuable resource for 24 local primary schools, including two special schools, facilitating curriculum swimming lessons for approximately 500 students. Additionally, 904 children and adults benefit from private lessons, fostering a culture of inclusivity and accessibility. As you know, Dover is considered to be a deprived area and many of the schools would have to forego their lessons if our pool closed. Keeping the pool open does not only benefit current and future Dukies but it will also benefit the local community, something I know Dukies care about a great deal - providing for others opportunities they were given by the school.

Preserving Heritage: The pool was built in 1909. Your support will help preserve this heritage for years to come.

Distinguishing Factor: In an educational landscape where many schools have closed their pools due to financial constraints, our swimming pool serves as a unique marketing tool. It sets us apart from other institutions and demonstrates our commitment to providing comprehensive educational experiences for our students.

We understand that these may be challenging times for many, but any contribution you can make is deeply appreciated. Together, we can ensure that our school continues to provide a top-tier educational experience for generations of Dukies to come.

Thank you for your consideration and continued support in preserving our school's legacy.
