Time to come out

This is who I am, might explain a few things.

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday, and decided it was the day to reveal who I am.

Don't worry, I'm not gay, but I am asexual. To clarify, this means I am "a person who experiences little or no sexual attraction" to women.

To those who remember me, and those who don't, this can explain why I didn't show much interest in girls while we were at school - not because I didn't find girls attractive, I just didn't have any interest in being more than a friend.

A few years ago, when I was working, I met a wonderful lady, she's in the picture with this article, and her love and support has helped me to come to terms with myself, to be able to reveal this aspect of my personality.

We are all different, it may take a long time to realise parts of who we we are, but thanks to Heidi, I have found myself, and the strength to come out, not just to family but to friends, and all of you.

Best wishes to you all, wherever you may be, and whoever you are with.
