WRA Hockey |
I have received the following information as to who may be in attendance on the evening, to help give you an idea of the type of event.
The pavilion in Bushey Park has been chosen because it was where Allan played his hockey when at his peak in the 1970's - 80's. It is now only used for cricket as hockey is now played almost exclusively, on artificial surface. Bushy Park is though where hockey was first played and there is still a good relationship between the cricket and hockey clubs. Four THC Vice presidents have agreed to help with the organisation. The Mayo family, Teddington HC, Spencer HC and England Masters, will be attending as well as others in the hockey circle who would like to remember Allan too - London Indians, Hampshire, Ealing Ladies (Allan coached in the 90's), Welsh hockey (based on friendships started when at University in Aberystwyth) and of course Dukies.
Ivor Beynon is organising the evening and the format is yet to be decided but it would run something along the lines of;
Program
6.30pm Arrival
7.00 pm 'Speeches'
8.00 pm Food (possibly a curry supper tbc along with cost)
10.00 pm Bar closes
It would be great to see as many people as possible in attendance, especially if you were unable to attend Allan's funeral.
Please note:
Photographs
We are collecting photograph and other items such as programs, press cuttings which will be arranged as a montage or shown on a screen via a computer. Do you have anything of this nature? Please contact Ivor
