WRA Hockey |
The School played their annual TDA hockey festival on Remembrance Sunday, with some great hockey on display and very close fixtures. Thank you to the WRA for supporting the event and all the alumni that stayed after parade to make the occasion possible.
Results
Mens' Match: School 3 – TDA 2
Ladies' Match: School 3 – TDA 1
Mixed Match: School 1 – TDA 1
After the matches, players, spectators and staff gathered in the AG Room for a curry supper. Here the trophies were presented to Alena for the ladies' match and to Freddie for the mens' match.
Alena and Lemmy were also awarded a hockey stick each for winning player of the match.
Our thanks go to the sponsors of the WRA mainly Paul Harrington who developed the initial idea of the WRA and has been fundamental in financing the project and hockey trips since its inception.
Thanks also go to Peter Vincent for his ongoing support, Charlie Lane and (the late) Allan Mayo for their knowledge and expertise of the game and to Dan Quinn (Director of Sport), & Josh Bryant (teacher) for being so passionate about the game, giving students such amazing opportunities.
Funding has been secured for the next year, but the school is still looking for sponsors to ensure the programme and the school trips may continue into the future. If you are interested in supporting this fantastic project, more information can be found on the support us tab, (drop down to White Rose Academy) or please get in touch Rachel. Robinson@doyrms.com
